Well, I just made it Throwout
It is Sunday..and almost midnight. I just made it.
Here is more of S#!t Storm.
Here is more of S#!t Storm.
Storm
I stand dumbfounded as Jen skips away like a pixie. That
girl could stand in a sauna and still appear cool as a cucumber. I can Feel
Jax’s eyes on me, but I know I am as red as a tomato right now. You would think
that I would be used to being around him by now, but I am not. It is still
amazing to me that such a man would want to be in the presence of a frumpy
nobody like me. His cool blue stare meets me as I turn to him, his mouth spread
wide in a grin. I can’t resist the returning smile I give him. His face always
holds such mischief, like a kid in a candy store. I swear he could turn a nun
into a giggling school girl.
“She’s kind of a bitch. I like her.” He says, again with
that goofy smirk on his face.
That is all it takes for the tension and embarrassment to
drain from my body. I start to laugh so hard I tear up as he watches me. He
must think I am a mess. My mood has changed so fast today it is surprising I
haven’t given the man whiplash.
“ I know, it is perfect right? She is this gorgeous little
tiny fairy like thing. Only the second she opens her mouth, people shrink down
and cower in fear. The best part is she is, like, the sweetest most generous
human on the planet, she just takes no shit. I fucking love that girl.”
Jax smiles and offers me his arm in that melty way he does
things. “Sounds like you are going out tonight. Let’s go find you a dress.”
Taking Jax’s arm I allow him to lead me. Walking down the
strip with Jax in broad daylight is an experience. The looks that I get for
being on the arm of such a beautiful man are not lost on me. We walk for what
seems like forever, lost in our own easy conversation again. Jax is stopped a
couple of times for pictures with people on the sidewalk.
I have no clue where we
are headed, I just let him lead me, finally arriving in a lavish shopping
center. Enamored, I start toward a store
that looks promising, but Jax pulls me to a stop. Shaking his head, he angles
it over his shoulder in the opposite direction. Blindly, I follow. There isn’t
anything Jax Michael Jewlson cannot get me to do.
We stop in front of a
store that screams money. The interior is stark white against the throngs of
apparel racks holding brightly colored exquisite garments. I peruse the
mannequins in the windows in awe. The dresses themselves are gorgeous, looking
as if they were made perfectly for women with curves. The arms of the window sentinels are adorned
with beautiful jewelry, themed in both snakes and dragons. I think I am in
love.
Jax continues to pull me
along, entering the store. I try to resist, but he isn’t willing to let me. I
draw my hands up, crossing them under my chest. My brain is screaming for me
not to touch anything. As soon as I pass
by my first dress and see the name on the label, I realize why.
“You brought me to
Roberto Cavalli, are you nuts?”
“No. Why would you say
that? There isn’t a dress in here that wouldn’t look great on you.”
“Yea, and there isn’t a
dress in here I can afford either.” I respond dryly. Jax rolls his eyes , then
grabs my elbow, steering me toward a sales person.
“Please show this beautiful
lady anything in her size.” Jax foregoes a greeting, instead choosing the
authoritative route. The uppity salesperson turns slowly with a scowl, however,
the crusty look changes when recognition takes over.
“Well, yes Sir, I will help
your friend here in any way I can.” The
salesman looks Jax up and down before extending his hand to me. “Come sweetie, let’s make you look like you
deserve to be on this fine man’s arm. “ I crumple my face in response to the
barb, but take his hand anyway. This may be how the sales people act in stores
like this. How would I know?
Mr. Pampas face looks me up
and down while grabbing a rolling dress rack.
I start to feel uncomfortable when he walks around me and palms my ass,
then grabs my breasts, running his hands down my sides. If the guy wasn’t obviously gay I would
probably punch him. Without a word, he starts to pull things from the displays,
quickly filling the rack with the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen.
While he is not looking, I sneak a peek at a price tag and almost fall over
when I see the eighteen hundred dollar sticker. I start to cough, dropping the
label. Mr. Pampas just winks. “That’s not even the most expensive one on this
rack darling. That piece of perfection you are with must really like you.”
After ten minutes of
getting progressively sicker as I watch cart fill, we finally reach the
dressing area. Jax sits thumbing through
a fashion magazine as the Salesman starts shoving dresses into a large room. I
walk over to him, and he casually raises his gaze.
“I really can’t afford this
Jax. Do you know how much they charge
for one of these? More money than I earn
in a month. “
“Just, try them on. If
there is one you like, I will buy it for you. That is the least I can do for
your companionship these past couple of days. “ Mr. Pampas comes out of the
room just in time to hear the last part of Jax’s statement. The look he gives me says
everything I need to know about what he thinks of me.
“All set. “ His sickly
sweet voice chimes from behind the worlds fakest smile. I shuffle into the room, staring at my feet. I catch Jax’s reflection in the mirror as I
close the door. His eyebrows are knit together, and he is mumbling something
angrily to Mr. Pampas. The jerk sales
clerk nods and walks away quickly, looking contrite. I smile inwardly knowing
he just got an earful.
Scanning the dresses in
front of me, I do my best to relax. The beautiful evening gowns he selected are
stunning, but I feel like they are a bit to dressy for going out to the
clubs. The tea length dresses are just
what I am looking for. After rifling through the plethora of designs, I settle
on two favorites. I refuse to look at the price tags. The guilt would be too
much for me to even try them on.
“You know you are modeling
them for me right?” Jax’s honey voice comes from just outside the door. I groan inwardly. I hate wearing dresses, but
if he is paying, I can’t rightly refuse his request.
“Just a second, I have it
narrowed down to two.” I say, my voice
breaking like a little girls. Sliding on
the first garment, I relish in its silky softness. The material is like butter.
Really. Stretchy. Butter. Holy crap, I
look like a frigging curvy goddess in this thing. The white, silky material has
a vibrant pattern of kaleidoscopic flowers. After admiring my reflection for a
minute longer, I exit to find Jax waiting. He pulls me to the three way mirror
and spins me around, unabashedly taking in my curves.
“It is beautiful, but I
think you can do better.” Is all he says before spinning me around and swatting
my ass, sending me back into the dressing room.
I do my best not to giggle as I shimmy out of dress number one and into
number two. This one, a black geisha cut with a vine pattern running down the
sides, embellished with lace. I gasp
when I see myself in the mirror. Jax was right. This one is way better. Slipping
out to the mirrored area once more and Jax’s jaw drops. His eyebrows climb high
on his forehead as he takes me in.
“That is the one…That is
the dress.” He says with finality. The
salesman reappears with a glass of champagne, shoe boxes, and a selection of
jewelry. Jax walks to the cart pulling
open a couple shoe boxes. Delicately removing one of the dainty heels he
walks to me. Dropping to one knee, he pulls on my calf until I raise my
foot. A shiver runs down my spine as he
trails his hand down to my foot, brushing his fingers over my instep and heel.
I never realized how sensual it was to have someone touch your feet before.
Maybe I can get him to do the other side as well.
“Perfect.” He breathes, as
he slides the beautiful heel onto my foot, his hand lingering on my ankle. I
close my eyes, because he is throwing off my equilibrium. “Are you ok?” he asks, and I open my eyes to
see a look of concern on his face.
“Fine. You are just always
touching me. It tends to throw me off.” I can feel my cheeks heating with my
admission. Clearly my filter has taken a vacation.
