TGI FRIDAY!!

A day late and a dollar short, as usual. However, with a little help from a friend I came up with an idea for this weeks throw-out. Thank you Stephanie Nett, it was a damn good Idea. without further pomp and circumstance....

The last Adventure of Those Girls

We all gather in a small room. The excitement and tension is palpable. All off us scurry around giddily, and slightly tipsy, from the never-ending flow of mimosas.  I readjust my gold satin and antique lace tea dress, making sure the strapless number stays in place. Caroline skillfully applies Fin’s  makeup, while Tiegan curls her hair, delicately pinning in her flower crown. I cannot believe she is actually getting married today. I never thought I would see the day.

The coordinator informs us it is time to line up, and I cringe. There is no guarantee that the groomsman I am supposed to walk with will show , so as a backup, I am supposed to walk with the ring barer and flower girl. I lag behind unsure which situation I am prepared for.

The rest of the wedding party is in their respective places when I finally make it to the churches lobby. My heart sinks when I see one person is still missing. Resolving myself not to be upset, I make my way over to the two cherub faced toddlers whom I will be escorting down the aisle.  Squatting down, I fix the bow on the back of the little girls dress, but before I can stand I hear my name.

“Hi Tah-lee”

My stomach drops to the floor and an Icey feeling spreads through my body. I was hoping for, and dreading this moment since I was named maid of honor.  I stand slowly and turn toward the silky voice. Those honey gold eyes meet mine and I fight desperately to keep my composure. Taking a deep breath, I form what I hope is a smile. I knew this was going to be hard, but this might just kill me. He stands silent, tracing my form with his eyes. I feel like I should cover myself, but instead, I stand tall. He can go ahead and take a look at what he left behind.

“Sage, nice to see you again.” I say in as strong of a voice as I can muster.

With a sly grin, he extends his elbow, and I take it, letting him lead me to the front of the line.

Well that is it for this week. Adu.
