Thursday Throw Out
Hi all,
I am waist deep in my self reinvention. Working my ass off, literally and figuratively, to regain control of my body. "This is WAR" is my new motto.( Someone will catch the reference.) Anyway, with all of the reinvention going on, I have been neglecting my writing. However I have been doing some editing of my second novel.
Someone once said, "Self doubt is the killer of all dreams." No one knows this better than I. I just cant help but think I am lacking. I can tell a good story, but my dyslexia makes my technical skills utterly hopeless. It would be great to have a co-writer or partner to help me for the long haul. Unfortunately, I cant find anyone who seriously wants to help. So I muttle forth.
I am bringing you a piece from Scarred today. Lightly edited, fried, and burnt to a crisp. (teehee) So Manja!!

“Will there be any other guests?” I ask, mainly
because I made enough guacamole for ten people.
Kate
looks down and shakes her head. “Sometimes the neighbors will stop by, but it’s
usually just the three of us. We are unable to have our own children. Brayden
is like a son to us, and we do not often talk to his sister or mother.” She
meets my eyes with a deep-rooted sadness. “Have you thought about having children,
child?” I see a glint of hope in her eye, as if godchildren in droves were on
the horizon.
Shit, really?
My
cheeks pink and I am at a loss for words, “Ahh…I.”
“What
are you ladies doing in here? As handsome as my dear nephew is, I have to say
we are lacking the company of the fairer sex.” A loud voice booms from the deck
door. I look up and see Eric wrapping his arms around his wife and kissing her
cheek. He then, flashes me a dazzling smile and a wink. Brayden crosses behind
the island and stands next to me, brushing my burning red cheek with his
knuckle.
“We
were just finishing up in here dear, how is the meat coming?” She smiles back
at her husband. “Help me gather some of the salads out of the ice box, and
bring them outside.” She winks in my direction and loads her arms with items
from the refrigerator.
“What
was that all about?” Brayden quips as he watches her walk out the patio door.
I
shrug, “Evidently, she is eager for a great niece or nephew to bounce on her
knee.”
He
rolls his eyes. “Well now that we have gotten all of the awkward out of the
way, it should be a beautiful day.” He bumps my hip with his, and picks up the
guac bowl winking. I giggle at him and follow him out the door.
Gordy was here;)
