Thursday throw out!

Well its that time again! I have decided to break my rule for one day only! THIS WEEKEND only Muse Vol. 1 will be 0.99 CENTS!! I REALLY NEED REVIEWS!! So since I am unable to promote my book through any sort of financial means, I am lifting the fee for one day only. Hopefully this will bet enough of my books "purchased" to get me a few more reviews.

I have been writing a few things this week. I want to get Muse 2 done, work on Scarred 2 and, get Scarred 1 edited and off to beta. I am stuck once again relying on my friends and family to help me edit. (Heavy sigh) Blablabla, you don't care. Why don't I just get this teaser started! This week I am bringing you a snippet of Scarred 2. I shared it of Facebook earlier in the week, so I am sorry if you have already seen this, but this writing thing really is not that easy.

Scarred 2


“I just, I can’t even!” I sob into the tenth Kleenex handed to me by the frantic girl in the Bridal shop. She keeps pacing back and forth, urging me to get out of the ten thousand dollar wedding dress I currently am trying on, before I get my running mascara all over it. I would be happy to oblige if I could just get my legs to work.
I received the phone call about ten minutes ago. Brayden sounded off, aloof, as if he was on a mass amount of Valium and not thinking clearly. I was in such a state of shock from the words Brayden said, that I dropped my phone. I wasn’t even aware my legs had gone out at the knee, until I felt Garrett lowering me to the floor.
After that point, everything was a blur. I can see that Garrett is talking to me, but I cannot hear him. Everything sounds tinny, like is coming through a bad drive through speaker. No matter how hard I concentrate, I cannot make out what people are saying to me. All I hear is the words, playing over and over, like a skip in a record.  
“I just think this is all too sudden. Maybe we shouldn’t get married.”
I finally am able to stand, with assistance from Garrett, who is now untying the corset top of the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. The dress I will never ware, because the man I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with no longer wants me. He helps me step out of the dress, which is now a pool at my feet, and sets me down on the bench in the extra large dressing room. I hear him say something, but it does not register, and he looks at me contritely before pulling out his phone and exiting the dressing area.
I glance at the three-way mirror in the corner at my dripping mascara and smudged eyeliner. The bridal consultant swoops in and grabs the dress, giving me a dirty look as she eyes a non-existent spot on the hem. I stare at my hands... because that is all I have left.
I shiver from the cold that is spreading outward from my heart. Is this really happening, is this a bad dream.

(eeep..I got through this whole thing without spelling errors!! That is a big deal for me :)

A word of advice. Never become a writer. Why? Well, I will tell you. Eventually, you start to believe your own bullshit.  Delude yourself into seeing things that aren't there. You are convinced at first that situations are innocent, then your friends say they are not, and you believe them. Just trust your instincts. Fairy tales are just that. Never going to happen. Especially not to me. So I open my mouth, loaded with misconceived information, that I didn't want to believe to begin with, and now I am pretty sure I fucked something up that could have pretty awesome. Ugg, I should be used to this by now, but I guess it never gets easier. I have deleted two posts this week, which I never do. With a little help from my friends Thursday throw out

So I was given a some constructive criticism from a beta who's opinion I value greatly. She was not a fan of my original prologue for one of my books. I redid it with the suggestions she gave me. After several drafts, trying out different concepts, I finally had something I thought was acceptable. Unfortunately, I am still in love with my first idea. This is where you come in! Tonight I am posting both prologues for said book. I want to put it to a vote. If you could please read both versions posted below. Every picture tells a story

So I have had time to process the suggestions given by my Beta and I have now organized them in such a way the my brain can process. 1. revamp prologue it sucks..well at least reword and add to it 2. Decide weather or not you want to take out things that personalize it to me...how much of myself do i want to leave on paper. 3. re-evaluate the refrences 4. it needs more muchness 5. suck it up..you can do this So here I sit staring at the picture that my daughter drew me, the back of which, where the first words of muse were laid out on paper.  It took me only a few seconds for this picture to inspire my story. Maybe if i stare at it long enough it will tell me how to proceed.
