Thirsty for some thursday throw out??
Hello all,
Fresh from my book release last week I started editing Scarred like a fool, Hopefully I can find someone to do some copy editing or full service editing on the cheap (or free) soon so I can actually publish a professionally edited novel. Until then, you are stuck with my lack luster editing prowess.
Book sales are slow, but I cant afford to promote professionaly either, so I am at the mercy of social media. I have started to build a network of other authors, aspiring or established, on twitter and hope for the best. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to dedicate to the interwebs, so I just hope for the best.
Muse is officially live on Amazon, Kobo, Nook, Google, and soon Ibooks ( still trying to figure out how to get into that site...apple makes nothing easy..I'm a samsung girl!) I have some time off to hash out all of the details this weekend and hopefully get my blog set up with all of the necessary widgets as well! But enough about all that, lets get down to what you came for...the teaser!!

Israel and Brad

Scarred
Israel and Brad
I peek over my shoulder and see Brad
making a beeline to my station. Bracing myself, I throw some whine on the halibut
I am preparing, and flames erupt from the pan. Brad pauses a few feet back
scowling at me. I glance at him and wait for him to begin, when he does not, I
turn.
“Can I help you?” I look at him blankly.
“Err…Yea. What was that?” He says motioning toward the dining room.
“It’s his birthday?” I say questioning his line of thought.
“No its not! And his server should be tending to the customer not you!” He half
screams at me.
I raise my eyebrows. “Excuse me? I believe that I can sing to whomever I want.”
I spit at him with the correct level of disdain.
“Israel, you are one of the most revered chefs in the Twin Cities! I would
appreciate it if you would stay in the kitchen where you belong.”
Oh, no
he did not!
I see the shock
register on the rest of the kitchen staff’s face. If looks could kill, my
expression would have murdered him tenfold. I take a deep breath and calmly reply.
“Bradley, this is MY restaurant. You simply help me run it. If you don’t like the way I do things a replacement can be arranged.” He gasps along with the rest of the crew. “Now if you don’t mind I need to finish this order, and then, I will be leaving for the evening.” I turn back to the halibut and slide it onto a baking sheet rubbing it with sea salt and herbs. I hear the kitchen door swish seconds later, and then a collective exhale.
