Just kidding but it got you here didn't it. Well tomorrow is HALLOWEEN!! I cant wait, it is going to be a good time :). Since some people are new to my blog I just wanted to say HI. and let you know that I have no less than five books I am working on at the moment, and you can find bits and pieces of all of them here in my archives.

A little about me. I am a thirty something mother of one beautiful child. I work as a pharmacy technician during the week, PCA on the weekends, and a mom every other available moment. I have been working on my first novel Muse Vol 1 since 2010. My work runs the gamete between humor and suspense, and everything in between.

I am trying to establish myself within the writing community, but it is plenty hard. I have been working on networking and getting myself out there over the past few months.  I am self edited and self published, but I worked monumentally hard so that fact wouldn't be blatantly obvious. Every week I post what I like to call the Thursday throw out. It is a random selection from something I have been working on. Just enough to get your attention and make you come back for more. Some weeks I post something different, like a modern translation of Shakespeare, or a poem, but mostly i post from my books. SOOO without further rambling, on to the TEASER!!


MUSE VOL 2


1196 B.C.E 

War. This is all humans think about. They go to war over lands, wealth, women, but to what end.

I watch the horizon as hoards of ships approach the shores of Troy.  I left a man, who thought he could force me to be his wife, far behind in Sparta. Instead, choosing to follow this fine male specimen, named Paris, to his home. I had no Idea Menelaus would come after me.

The war started, and raged for ten years, over lust. A lust that I created with my powers. May of the people of Troy died. Many of their heroes, their royalty, my would-be mate, all were killed in battle. I have grieved for each and every one of them, they are good people. I tried to sacrifice myself for their safety, but, of course, I am immortal and can not. So I am left to watch helplessly, as my friends are slaughtered in the name of honor, love, or whatever they deem it is for. It is such a disgusting act, resulting in such a waste of life.

I watch the as the giant horse rolls into the town square, into the remnants of the village. The people kneel before it and see it as their own Idol, they bow in worship as I look on.....

Downward spiral throw out.

A word of advice. Never become a writer. Why? Well, I will tell you. Eventually, you start to believe your own bullshit.  Delude yourself into seeing things that aren't there. You are convinced at first that situations are innocent, then your friends say they are not, and you believe them. Just trust your instincts. Fairy tales are just that. Never going to happen. Especially not to me. So I open my mouth, loaded with misconceived information, that I didn't want to believe to begin with, and now I am pretty sure I fucked something up that could have pretty awesome. Ugg, I should be used to this by now, but I guess it never gets easier. I have deleted two posts this week, which I never do. With a little help from my friends Thursday throw out

So I was given a some constructive criticism from a beta who's opinion I value greatly. She was not a fan of my original prologue for one of my books. I redid it with the suggestions she gave me. After several drafts, trying out different concepts, I finally had something I thought was acceptable. Unfortunately, I am still in love with my first idea. This is where you come in! Tonight I am posting both prologues for said book. I want to put it to a vote. If you could please read both versions posted below. Every picture tells a story

So I have had time to process the suggestions given by my Beta and I have now organized them in such a way the my brain can process. 1. revamp prologue it sucks..well at least reword and add to it 2. Decide weather or not you want to take out things that personalize it to me...how much of myself do i want to leave on paper. 3. re-evaluate the refrences 4. it needs more muchness 5. suck it up..you can do this So here I sit staring at the picture that my daughter drew me, the back of which, where the first words of muse were laid out on paper.  It took me only a few seconds for this picture to inspire my story. Maybe if i stare at it long enough it will tell me how to proceed.
