Wow it's Thursday! And here is my throwout!

Happy Thursday all!!
Another week, another throwout! I am looking forward to a long awaited weekend off to work on my editing and writing (after I clean my house). I also have to focus on getting over this unfortunate bout of laryngitis that has a hold on me. Its quite problematic to be voiceless when your job (and demeanor) rely on it....Maybe I will have to send the wee one away so I can save my voice....like that will happen!

Progress this week: slow. I have been working on the Jesson's POV a bit. However, I have been focusing on getting my edits for Muse buttoned up. I have been told countless times, by several people, that it is a good story, it just needs some rewording...so that is what I am focusing on. So This week I am sifting through some files to bring you an excerpt that you may like.

            Dayton gushed to the audience about the food. My cheeks felt as if they were going to sprout roses I was so flattered by his gracious comments. Then he called Garrett up on stage to thank him for his hard work. I stood in unison with the other members of the crowd and applauded him, knowing he deserved the fanfare. As we all began to sit, I heard a sharp pang of feedback from the microphone and looked up to see Garrett holding the microphone.

            Oh Hell NO!

            A stunned Dayton looks down on Garrett with an amused smile on his face. An awkward hush falls over the crowd and Garrett clears his throat. Flourishing down toward me in grand style Garrett begins to speak.

            “Ladies and Gentleman, I would like to introduce the mastermind behind our wonderful menu this evening. Stand up and take a bow Mrs. Israel Hunter.” He applauds me and the crowd follows in unison.

            Just Fuck!

A word of advice. Never become a writer. Why? Well, I will tell you. Eventually, you start to believe your own bullshit.  Delude yourself into seeing things that aren't there. With a little help from my friends Thursday throw out

So I was given a some constructive criticism from a beta who's opinion I value greatly. She was not a fan of my original prologue for one of my books. I redid it with the suggestions she gave me. After several drafts, trying out different concepts, I finally had something I thought was acceptable. Unfortunately, I am still in love with my first idea. This is where you come in! Tonight I am posting both prologues for said book. I want to put it to a vote. If you could please read both versions posted below. Every picture tells a story

So I have had time to process the suggestions given by my Beta and I have now organized them in such a way the my brain can process. 1. revamp prologue it sucks..well at least reword and add to it 2. Decide weather or not you want to take out things that personalize it to me...how much of myself do i want to leave on paper. 3. re-evaluate the refrences 4. it needs more muchness 5. suck it up..you can do this So here I sit staring at the picture that my daughter drew me, the back of which, where the first words of muse were laid out on paper.  It took me only a few seconds for this picture to inspire my story. Maybe if i stare at it long enough it will tell me how to proceed.
