Thursday Throwout!!

Welcome to annother addition of the Thursday Throwout!! My name is Star Kava, and I will be this evenings host :). I have been gearing up for a submission (hopefully) to the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest. (link below). So this week I have been knee deep in edits and composing. I cant even begin to describe how much I want this. Not necessarily the contest, because in general I never win anything. I just want to be able to do something I enjoy WITHOUT driving an hour or longer to do it.
I had mixed responses from my survey from last week. It was pretty close but option b came out on top. I apreciate the feedback from everyone.  I apologuise that the pieces were not better edited. This was pointed out a couple of times. But, like all of the excerpts I post, they were rough draft quality. If anyone ever notices or has suggestions, I welcome any feedback given. This is a grueling peocess, and your support is waht keeps me going.
As I mentioned before, here is the link for the contest. I am not sure if anyone else out there is an aspiring author like me, but you cant cross the road unless you take the first step. <3

On to the teaser......

Captured

That night, I dreamt of  Sara. Her hair was its original chestnut brown and her violet eyes were not disguised by contacts. I sigh at the sight, as it warms me in some way.  She motions for me to follow her and turns toward a blinding light. I start after her, but cannot gain ground. She keeps moving farther and farther away. In the distance there are two silhouettes, holding hands, waiting on her arrival. I instantly know that they are my parents. Reaching toward them I struggle against the force that is hindering my progress. The light seems to be pulling farther and farther away. I start to cry desperately for my sister, and call out to her.  I awoke screaming, in the arms of Lucy, back in my hospital bed. This is when Dr. Ross decided to move me into the locked ward.

Well, that is it for this week. I know it is short and sweet, but like a majician, I cant give away all my secrets. Please Like and share on facebook, and come back next week .
