A Poetic Thursday Throwout
It has been a rough week for me. I haven't gotten much writing done. I had a sick kid and a person from my group home pass away. For lack of a better word life has been a bit surreal. This aside, I did get a few things penned and I had time to sit down with my child and go over what kind of a book she would like me to write.
Here is what we have:
Any way, I have been pretty long winded this week. I wrote one thing this week that I am truly proud of. It is a poem for the person I took care of since 2007. I have decided to get back to my roots and share my poetry with you. I have always felt Poetry is a window to the soul, and personal to the author so here we go. Its not much, but it is what it is.
Here is what we have:
- epic adventure: Like the hobbit
- two kids go in search of a flower to cure a great plague that has consumed the land
- They meet friends along the way that help them
- they travel through an enchanted Forrest
- extinct volcano
- swamp with aligators
- desert
- there is a water castle at the edge of a rainforest where a witch guards the flower
- a wizard gives them an orb that will transport one of them home
- beyond the rainforest is a portal but it may not send them to the right time or place
- an old lady warns them not to go through
- they meet someone who brings them home
- happy ending

Sleep
sweet angel,
Give
your pain to the light,
Where
neither worries, nor troubles can find you.
Sleep
Sweet angel,
You
have fought a good fight,
All
your friends and your family are behind you.
Sleep
sweet angel,
Go find
your peace.
We all know
what a battle you fought.
Sleep
sweet angel,
Although
you’ll be missed,
We will
hold you in our hearts and our thoughts.
I hope this is okay, I don't have much else to share please come back next week, hopefully I will have more for you.
