Thursday throwout!!

Well here we are again. Another Thursday Throwout on the books. I am about half way through my edits and cant wait to get Muse out in the e-book stores. I would like to once again thank you for returning weekly and reading my blog. Especilly after last weeks fiasco (sad face) that was an epic fail on my end. But I am keeping the promise I made and have the summary for muse ready to go.

I need to say something to all of you about my first book. This has been a labor of love. It has also been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am basically putting myself on papaer for all to see. Exposing myself, not unlike being outside naked when its 40 below. I feel the need to verbalize that I have done this whole thing on my own cover to  cover with the help of some good friends as betas/editors. So I timidly am putting this out knowing that I could publicly humilliate myself. Possibly shame my family. As well as be blacklisted by the writing communituy.

In the wake of all that, at least I will be able to say I did it.

So please my friends, If you see something on my blog that you want to give an opinion on. Think it needs improvement or shouldn't be added at all. Please let me know, either on my fb inbox or my contact form to your right. I would apreciate it.

Muse Vol. 1

Summary

Erato and Eros are immortals banished from Olympus by their parents Zeus and Aphrodite. They have walked the earth for several centuries  as constant companions, blending into the human world. Presently going by Seth and Stella, they have chosen to lead separate lives. Stella is pursuing academics, while Seth is leading a more physical lifestyle of wine and women.

When Seth’s mother, Aphrodite, asks him to return to Olympus, Seth has to choose whether or not to leave Stella behind. He confronts her about his decision, torn between going home and admitting that he has feelings for her. Caught off guard, Stella sends him home to his family. She chooses instead to stay behind, never wishing to return to the mountain.

 In the midst of her heartbreak Stella finds Jesson.

 Letting her guard down, and adopting her new human life alone, love starts to blossom between them. Unfortunately, when everything starts to seem perfect, her life takes a harsh turn. She finds out that she is not the only immortal attending her college. What’s more,  she discovers there may be a price on her head.  Zeus now wants all immortals to return to Olympus or die.

Will Stella‘s decision bring Zeus’s wrath upon all earthbound Olympians? Can she stay with the man she loves?  Can her small band of gods and demi-gods face Zeus in a possible war? If so who will pay the ultimate price?

Muse Vol. 1 is a fast paced novel, that will leave you wanting more. This debut novel by an ambitious new author Star Kava, will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Downward spiral throw out.

A word of advice. Never become a writer. Why? Well, I will tell you. Eventually, you start to believe your own bullshit.  Delude yourself into seeing things that aren't there. You are convinced at first that situations are innocent, then your friends say they are not, and you believe them. Just trust your instincts. Fairy tales are just that. Never going to happen. Especially not to me. So I open my mouth, loaded with misconceived information, that I didn't want to believe to begin with, and now I am pretty sure I fucked something up that could have pretty awesome. With a little help from my friends Thursday throw out

So I was given a some constructive criticism from a beta who's opinion I value greatly. She was not a fan of my original prologue for one of my books. I redid it with the suggestions she gave me. After several drafts, trying out different concepts, I finally had something I thought was acceptable. Unfortunately, I am still in love with my first idea. This is where you come in! Tonight I am posting both prologues for said book. I want to put it to a vote. If you could please read both versions posted below. Every picture tells a story

So I have had time to process the suggestions given by my Beta and I have now organized them in such a way the my brain can process. 1. revamp prologue it sucks..well at least reword and add to it 2. Decide weather or not you want to take out things that personalize it to me...how much of myself do i want to leave on paper. 3. re-evaluate the refrences 4. it needs more muchness 5. suck it up..you can do this So here I sit staring at the picture that my daughter drew me, the back of which, where the first words of muse were laid out on paper.  It took me only a few seconds for this picture to inspire my story. Maybe if i stare at it long enough it will tell me how to proceed.
