Happy Labor Day Weekend All!!!
Welcome to the Thursday throw-out. Over the past week, I have approached my writing with a renewed vigor.  I await my beta-tester with bated breath. Hoping I don’t turn blue before she returns my book to my waiting arms. Regardless, I am grateful for their services and will remain patient, until such time as she sees fit to return my baby.
I have decided to dive headlong into my second volume of Muse, knowing that it will be a long journey. Scarred is still waiting it’s finishing touches before being sent to beta.  I am very confident in this, my second attempt, being a stronger novel than the first. I hope to revisit Brayden and Israel soon with a clear head and new ideas.
Truthfully, I cannot wait for the Thursday I am posting a link to my First Novel, after it has gone live on Amazon.  However, until that time I will continue to post on Thursdays, sharing bits and pieces for you to sample. Thanks for coming back week after week, now on to the excerpts.

Muse Vol. 1
Jema  to ???

“You scared me I thought you were my boss.” He shrugged “looks like you made it through the night.”
Damn those green eyes... “Yea, I guess, thanks.” I could feel my face flush. “You didn’t have to stay all night if you had to work this morning. Sorry about all the drama, I’m normally not like that.”
“It’s ok, it broke up the monotony.” He smiled. “Thank your boyfriend for telling me which room was yours. My arms were getting pretty tired.”
Good lord another boyfriend, now there dropping from the sky. The words to “It’s raining men” popped into my brain. For the second time today, I found myself asking “Boyfriend?”

e-mails between Israel and Brayden
Did you get the envelope last night? I had the door attendant deliver it personally.
Brayden

            Shit the envelope!
I run to the living room and scan the area where my purse had landed the night before. I spot it half under the ottoman and rip into it. Inside is a certificate for a spa day at one of the most exclusive salons in town along with a note from Dayton:

You forgot this...
Brayden

My mouth falls open. I had completely forgotten about the silent auction. I quickly return to my laptop and type out a reply.

Yes, I received the envelope. I am afraid however, that this is far too extravagant to accept. I will have it delivered back to you tomorrow morning via courier. Thanks again. Israel

            Another ping:

Nonsense, I insist! Do you not like to go to the salon? Perhaps I could bestow a personal Shopper upon you. I did notice the Vera Wang dress and Jimmy Choo’s you wore to the gala.

Oh my gosh! This guy has seriously lost his nut!
            I type another response:

No the salon is fine. I just do not know you well enough to accept gifts of any nature from you. It would not be very professional of me. Thank you again Mr. Dayton for all of your generosity. I do look forward to working with you in the future should the need arise. Israel Hunter

            Almost instantly a reply:

Then I believe we should get to know each other better.
            Also, please call me Brayden

I do not respond. I shut down my laptop and grab my now cold food retreating to the living room.

Hope you enjoy…see you next week
