Thursday throw out

Hi all, Still recovering from vacation. I guess it helped me with this weeks post. I miss my friends desperately and am trying myself to keep in good spirits. Tomorrow is my birthday. I hope I feel better so I can actually function. Not much to say this week without getting all emotional on y'all so here is the throw out. The Last Adventure of Those Girls Five Hours. Five hours on a plane to think about the events of the last five days.   I tried to sleep, but every time I close my eyes Shannon’s face is all I can see. The disappointment behind his honey eyes   as the door shut in his wake. I pull my parka tight around me and drag my suitcase through the snow covered parking lot toward the ramp where my car awaits. I have never been so happy to see my rusted little commuter car in my life. I climb in and she fires right up. After letting her warm up for a few minutes, we make our way toward home and my awaiting pre-teen. Coming down after a vacation is always hard. Y...

An open letter to my Wenches

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.—Lao Tzu I climbed into my car, signed the cross, and prayed that she made it the four hundred miles I required of her. She started, just as she always does. With a teary glance toward my weeping child standing in the doorway, I throw my beater in reverse and drive out of my little world. Six hours.   Six hours of driving, over analyzing, singing, badly. What had I gotten myself into.   I am driving to a different state to meet with five women I had met on the Internet. Seriously, this is how some horror movies start. The only person who cared enough to ask for an address and phone number to where I was going was a nine-month pregnant co-worker. The sadness of this is not lost on me. I fight off the bout of depression that claws at my chest and press forward. No, this trip is exactly what I need to move on. It is quite possible that my emotionally damaged heart has formed an attachment to these people out ...

TGIF Throwout

Welcome, Another week gone by, another weekly throw out. Next week I will likely post on Tuesday, if I post at all. I will be headed to Wisconsin for some Wenchy fun. I cant wait to finally meet the ladies of the Word Wenches, especially Jennifer, whom has become one of my besties over the past few months. There shall be a post the week of July 20th then the next week I am going camping, so I will try to squeeze one in before that as well, but no guarantees. This weeks post is more of Those Girls. I pray that the ladies the characters are based after know which is which by now. The situations are fictitious, but the main characters impressions of them come strait from the heart. True to form, these ladies already know how I feel about them, so this is nothing new. I just hope to do them justice. Enjoy :) The Last Adventures of Those Girls The nights entertainment is a funk band and before too long we are all sweaty on the dance floor. Finleigh has caught her second wind an...

HUMP DAY THROWOUT

Image
Mixing it up a bit and throwing out on a Wednesday this week. I have to get back to Working on Detour. It is my first stab at romance/erotica and I am about 20k into it. I am going to make it a stand alone because I feel like I need a challenge.  I have to giggle because the majority of my characters are based or named after people I know. Jesson from Muse, for instance, is the name of one of my brother in laws friends. Cotter is pretty much the polar opposite of his Detour namesake. Brayden is the name of a boy who lived in my apartments when I was a child. I guess I do it because I have such a personal connection with my characters. So if you are named in one of my books, know you are special to me. **AUTHOR RANT** In the past week I have found out that BOTH the title and the cover art I wanted to use for Detour, have been used. Which sucks because the title fits the book so well. I AM SUPER PISSED BECAUSE THE PICTURE I FOUND WAS PERFECT!! So, since I cant use it...
